What I’ve been working on…

Greetings! I’ve managed to begin writing again, along with some self-discipline to organize my day (in short, I’ve been running pretty much every day – getting in a mile and a half in about twenty minutes. Yes, I know I’m slow. Old man, here!). It took me a bit to figure out what I wanted to work on, but I’ve decided to work on A Midsummer Night’s Fear – my story about evil faeries breaking out and attacking a town. I freely admit to being inspired by Raymond Feist’s novel Faerie Tale, which I’ve ready maybe three times. There’s a little bit of The Spiderwick Chronicles vibe to it, also. But I’m enjoying myself, nonetheless. I hope to have it done in six to eight weeks.

I’m gonna get back to work now. I have to kill someone off with a water kelpie.

  1. I left a message elsewhere for you but want to repeat it here. FINALLY able to financially get the rest of Jefferson Road series and Nicholas. Gave them to myself as a birthday present. Started reading Nicholas and couldn’t put it down. Finished it near midnight the day it came. Have never read Scripture so smoothly woven into a book…not quoted but a real part of the story. The story idea was unique and I was very satisfied as I finished it. Thank you for working so hard with your talent…keep going, my friend. Can’t wait to get started on finishing Jefferson Road…

    • Thank you, Vera! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed Nicholas. It’s been my best seller this year, and continues to win rave reviews from readers.

Jefferson’s Road has been my most ambitious project to date, but I’ll be honest, it pales in comparison to what I’m currently working on: a retelling of the American Revolution running from Pontiac’s War in 1763 through George Washington’s resignation from service at the end of 1783. I want to be as accurate as possible and include as much as I can of why and how this nation came to be. So far, I’ve got almost 23K words and I’ve only covered April 27 thru May 10, 1763. There’s just so much! And it’s all sacred history, so I have to get it right. I have no idea when it’ll be done. Truly, a labor of love.
